"Les COCOTIERS" invite you to discover the charms of VIEUX-HABITANTS,
one of the oldest village of Guadeloupe (set up in 1636).
Located in the south of the "COTE SOUS LE VENT", in the BASSE-TERRE region,
this little country village is one of the most typical and beautiful of the island.
VIEUX-HABITANTS is very famous for its XVIIIth century church,
FOR ITS COFFEE (the old "la Grivelière" Estate and the roasting factory
in the village) and for its traditional festival
(KAKADO CHIRSTMAS).
It's also a starting point to discover all the wonders of BASSE-TERRE region:
- excursions towards the falls and natural basins of the tropical forest or climb the Soufrière volcano,
- Diving in the Cousteau reserve,
- Sporting fishing or sailing to the SAINTES archipelago,
- Sun bathe and bath on the many black or ochre sand beaches of the COTE SOUS LE VENT.
